Natural language processing

Natural Language Processing (NLP) is the field of study that deals with the processing and analysis of natural language data. NLP is used to recognize patterns and trends in text, and to create systems that can understand what is being said.

It can be challenging for computers to understand speech or what is written, but it can be equally challenging to write something coherent. Computers are good at taking things apart, putting them back together, and figuring out how they work, but not so great at actually understanding and writing.
